Mike, I have to honestly say that I think synthetic hackle is horrible. Therefore I think you shouldn't bother with it and send it to me...nice fly by the way.
I've never used it. It looks artificial. I can't imagine it would be good for much other than Woolly Buggers and patterns like the one above. Your fly looks kinda like the "bass crawlers" I've recently tied. Are you planning on using that for bass or something else?
I have some of that stuff I bought at the fly show 3 years ago and I have not found a good use for it yet. Does anybody have any suggestions other than big leaches and buggers?

ReplyDeleteI don't know what I was planning to do with it. I just started messing around but they did wind up in the bass box.
DeleteI haven't used it either, but, looks like you put it to good use on the Bugger pattern. If you send it all too, Howard, he won't share................
ReplyDeleteHoward never shares.

ReplyDeleteThat's about all I've came up with so far.
DeleteTrim it up for a black caddis catskill style, or wrap it down for a stonefly.
ReplyDeletethat's actually a good idea, and you just gave me another idea.....
